The GiO Advisor Portal
The Group insurance Online (GiO) Advisor portal is a free online tool designed to facilitate the end to end Request For Proposal (RFP) process. The portal guides you through the process of requesting the different types of benefits that make up an RFP for Group insurance, helping to ensure that all the required information is completed.

Creating a new Request For Proposal
Creating a new Request For Proposal is quick and simple. The portal guides you through the basic overview questions, such as the name of the group, the number of lives, the industry they are in and whether or not they have current coverage.
The next step is to build out the structure of the group. The GiO Advisor portal is built to handle both simple and complex group structures.
Once the Division and Class have been defined the associated benefits for that Class are selected. As different benefits are selected the portal intelligently adds the associated fields, meaning you only have to answer questions relevant to the benefits being requested.

Exporting the RFP document
Once completed the RFP can be easily exported for easier sharing with external parties, such as your client. The RFP export is in a standard Excel format and is laid out in a simple and easy to read format. A copy of this export is automatically stored in the GiO portal for reference purposes.
One-click RFP Submission
Please note this feature is not available as part of the GiO Advisor portal Beta. It will be available at launch. RFP’s created in the GiO Advisor portal during the Beta can still be exported to excel and submitted using the usual channels.
When the RFP is ready to be submitted to carriers the GiO Advisor Portal handles the entire submission process. Simply select the carriers that the RFP will be submitted to and press the Submit button. A copy of the RFP is then automatically submitted on your behalf to the selected carriers.
Keep track of multiple RFP’s
You will likely have multiple active RFP’s open at the same time, in varying stages of the RFP process. The GiO Advisor portal helps you to track these RFP’s and where they are in the process, whether they are still in draft format, they have been submitted to carriers and are awaiting their responses, or they are in the final stages of negotiation.
Closed RFP’s are moved out of your active RFP list, but can still be viewed at any time.

How secure is the GiO Advisor portal?
We know security is a major concern and it is something we take extremely seriously. The GiO Advisor portal is secured using 128 bit SSL, which encrypts all data sent between your computer and the portal. This is similar to the technology used by banks and credit cards to secure your financial transactions.
Physical security is just as important. Our vendors data center is secured by keycards, biometric scanning and constant surveillance, to ensure your data is protected physically as well as virtually.
What about privacy?
We believe your data should stay private. We won’t sell or share any of the contact information or any other personal information that you provide to us.
One thing we may do is share high level data at an aggregated level for the benefit of the wider group advisor community. For example we might write a blog post about the historical trends of closing ratios in Ontario, based on our data. When creating these industry statistics no identifying data, either for you or your clients, will ever be used.
